Who Will Be Eligible for the GCC Unified Tourist Visa? Latest 2026 Update
What is known about the planned visa and which nationality, residency and passport rules remain unresolved.
Eligibility Is Not Final
The project is intended for foreign visitors travelling across the Gulf, but a complete nationality list and final eligibility matrix have not been published in the latest public update. Any website promising approval for every passport is making a claim that needs official evidence.
Eligibility may cover more than nationality. Passport validity, travel purpose, age, previous immigration history, residence status and destination-specific restrictions can all matter.
Citizens, Residents and Tourists
A GCC citizen is a national of one of the six member states. A foreign GCC resident holds a residence permit in a member state. A non-GCC international tourist is neither of those categories. These groups should not be merged in search articles or visa advice.
The UAE–Bahrain air-travel project refers to movement for citizens and residents in its own context, but that does not establish future Unified Tourist Visa eligibility for every resident or nationality.
What a Future Checker Must Say
A helpful eligibility explainer can list questions for a traveller to verify: passport country, passport expiry, residence permit, purpose, intended countries and trip dates. It must display: Informational only — this is not an official eligibility decision.
Only the official application system or competent authority can make a final decision.
